Selection of Single Axis Actuators
Selection the nominal LX actuator based on the required travel (stroke) and load ratings listed below (Table4)
Determine the ball screw lead so that the operation speed should not exceed maximum travel speed shown in (Table 6). At this stage, the selection is temporary.
Examine the load applied to the block(s) and calculate the Equipment Load using formulas (1) and (2) on page 2808. Obtain Average load (3) using Equivalents load and calculate rated Life Span (4).

Examine the load applied to the ball screw and the support bearing. Put it in formula (3) on page 2808, btain the average load Fm and calculate the lifetime.
Select the temporary model number based on the load mass W (kg) and the rail and the maximum speed V (mm/s). Then prepare a speed diagram based on the acceleration, maximum speed and travel. Speed diagram will serve as the basis for the selection calculation.
Block |
| Exmine the loads applied to the block (Fig.2) of the LX actuator. Obtain the equivalent load Fe using formula (1) for single nut block specifications and formula (2) for double nut block specifications. |
[Fm: Average load for fluctuating loads (N) Ls: Total travel distance (km)]
