M2.6 thread is the correct size or a catalog mistake?

M1.6 thread size is not a catalog mistake.  This is the correct size when listed in the catalog.  If you are having trouble locating hardware, we also sell hexagonal socket head cap screws with a M1.6 thread (Misumi part numbers: CB1.6-5, CB1.6-8, CB1.6-10, CB1.6-11, and CB1.6-15, where the last number in the part number refers to the length).

They could not use M2.5 screws like everybody.. like this extra 0.1 mm is not going to change anything.. anything is good to sell screws!

I had a similar question when I first joined Misumi. But the background is like this:

Though Misumi has made the linear guides more configurable and less cost, the technology itself was not invented by Misumi.
Our product planners visited customers and got feedback from dozens of engineers who were already using linear guides in their design.
Specifications are always defined to address the issues and requirements our customers have.
One of the requirements, was that it needed to be compatible with the de facto standard established by our competitors. And indeed, the M2.6 screw was the de facto standard for linear guide manufacturers. It seems the standardization originated in the Japanese electronic and electrical industry, and the major linear guide manufacturers followed that trend.
